Looking for a fun beanie with unique Amsterdam design? Check out this beanie with a print of former warehouse Afrika at Oostelijke Handelskade in Amsterdam. This design beanie has a beautiful story ...

In former warehouse Afrika goods were stored by the Blue Hats Storehouse (in Dutch Blauwhoedenveem). The Blue Hats Storehouse was founded in 1616 by the carriers who transported goods from the boats to the weigh house and into the warehouses. The carriers were wearing blue hats to distinguish themselves from the competition who wore f.e. white or red hats. After taking over the Red Hats Storehouse, the Blue Hats Storehouse opened an office in Rotterdam in 1878. Even later the Amsterdam and Rotterdam offices merged into the predecessor of Royal Vopak, a Dutch company with a beautiful history that goes back to the Golden Age.

From Blue hat to beanie, can you find a more beautiful story? On your way to the cinema or to a coffee company? With this beanie you can forget about bad hair days. Plus who needs tinder with such a good story to share with others ;-).

If you go for this beanie it's a must to take a selfie in front of the building. Check out the U&I in the City tour&greeting card Amsterdam North & Eastern Islands to turn this activity in a fun day out.

Specifications

Inner lining: grey, cotton/bamboo sustainable interlock perfect for indoors or mild weather.
The shell (outer) layer of the U&I in the City beanie is a spun polyester fabric. It wears great and is highly pill resistant so can be worn and washed without any noticeable change to the fabric.
The print will never fade.
Printed and sewed in Montreal.

Care instructions

Your custom made beanie hat is easy to care for. Wash it in a washing machine in cold water, or hand wash in cold water. Please air dry. Since the lining and shell are two different fabrics, air drying prevents any shrinking between the two different fabrics and keeps your beanie fitting just right.

Sizes

To decide your size measure the circumference of your head at the largest part, just above your ears and across your forehead and refer to the size chart below. If you have an in-between measurement, best to go for the smaller size since the beanies are stretchy.

S = 56.6 cm

M = 58.4 cm

L = 61.0 cm
